Bible/Faith Journaling Insights

It's exciting to walk 'in my lane' finally.  For so long, I've tried on my own to carve out my own path, being pretty proud of how far I've come, foolishly thinking that I've made my own way, taking credit for all the good things that I have been Blessed with.  It seems funny to actually say it, but that's what I really thought.  Nothing could be farther from the truth!  In fact, it was and has been God's doing all along.  My husband, my children & grandchildren, my home, my job.  I made God wait (sigh) but He is so patient and forgiving.  You know like the lightbulb that goes on all of a sudden, and ah ha, I GET IT!

Though I've been following him for a long time since I was a teenager and active where I've worshiped I think I've tried to 'get by' by my works.  I did have faith and believed wholeheartedly in my Child of God status but missing was the enabling, the 'wherever you lead me, I-will-go-heart'.  I could easily volunteer to do things that were familiar, safe and where I could shine.  Though I tried journaling many times, there were a lot of stumbling blocks & excuses:my handwriting not looking great, I can't find my journal!, I forgot to have my devotions, I'm too busy, not now God, I feel lazy today, I don't feel like it, I'll do it later or not.  Which led to a lot of guilt, shame, and see--you've messed up! again guilt.  Satan loves to remind us of our imperfections and short comings.  He is also a liar.  We have been Redeemed!

The exciting thing with God is that He hasn't given up on me.  I can ask for forgiveness and His help to start again.  Amazing and fulfilling!  Empowering.  I like a Blogger/Youtuber called The Reset Girl. She is a believer who has a group called Listers Gotta List and she Faith Journals too. I am pleased that so many Christians are writing faith-based blogs and books and doing YouTubes. Reset--I love that concept!

The YouTube for today is with Sandy Allnock.  She was the force behind a huge cardmaking community that sent home made cards to deployed servicemen to send back to their loved ones--Operation Write Home.  She is a talented artist and also Bible Journals.  I'm gonna write those 3 principles down.

  1. I struggle with this constantly. I blame our busy lives but I need to make it a priority.
